Default What NEEDS to be done about the makeover

Ok so...

Maybe we might be able to work something out with Anet on the purchase of makovers.

First of all, I'm not demanding the makeover be completely free, but I do think it's a bit unreasonable currently.

I propose:
-Hair styles be made free or cost ingame gold.

-The full options are opened to character creation.

Did you know that every time we create a character, we're now limited to 1/3rd of the current options. That's right, it's costing us real money to unlock 2/3rds of the options for character creation.

Our initial purchase of the game should cover EVERYTHING that is important to gameplay... Character creation, though it doesnt effect the combat, is extremely important to the RP factor. We should not be paying extra for a majority of the options!

So sign here if you think these terms are reasonable, or you think makeovers should be completely free, OR if you have your own idea.

Character Creation does not matter to me. Charge or don't it does not provide any real advantage in any way shape or form. Now Storage, that is an issue that I do not agree with. I think that should be available for free.

Worst answer possible. This game is meant to be F2P, not Korean make-over Wars. Seriously, stop being a fanboy and realized that Anet RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GOed up big time.

That would be really cool. That's what I would have expected from the old dev team. No offense to the new fellas or anything.

I kinda feel like one of my biggest dreams for GW was suddenly added then ripped away from me.

Hair changing, with in game gold only.

That's the only one that bugs me. At this rate now, GWs is going to be nothing more then a F2P POS.

Gender change, total change up, ok price it. Maybe even give them some hairstyles only makeover buyers have access to. But just changing your hair or even maybe dying it a different color for that matter, in game gold & dye.

Edit: I didn't know they locked part of the character creation now. So I'll take it back. GWs IS a F2P POS now

Well, no they didnt lock anything. But i'm saying that now that all of the campaigns are mixed, the original settings seem kind of limited.

An in-game option would be nice -- even if it was something crazy like 50 ecto per change. We need more money-sinks anyway.

(Actually, 50e seems pretty reasonable if people are willing to shell out 75 for non-matching chaos gloves. :P)

No, they didn't lock part of the character creation. If you buy makeover credits you can give your character features from any of the campaigns. So, for instance, your character can have a Factions face with Prophecies hair. But that option is only available if you do it in the makeover screen, not in the character creation screen. Which is the same as it's always been. The OP was a little misleading.

From the official game updates page. The character creation screen can't show all the combinations now possible through the makeover system. And honestly, you get 5 makeovers for $10 (unless you want to change gender). That is pretty inexpensive.

It's too late to make any changes to the in-game store upgrades that have already rolled out. Just think about it. If they suddenly give us other ways to change the hair and face it will only help them lose customers that already bought the original makeover packs. It may be a bit callous of some posters to say this but I have to agree that we have to live with it now, unfortunately.

Whether it's inexpensive or overpriced depends on how you will use it. For example, I only need to change the face of one of my characters one time and that's it, so for me a makeover pack is overpriced. But for someone else who would like to change their characters lots of times it could be considered inexpensive.

The game is FREE TO PLAY. You just got an extra equipment pack and an extra 20 slot storage pane FOR FREE. You got 3 new ways to earn faction xp and money per day FOR FREE, plus the whole zoo thingy FOR FREE. If you don't want the extras don't buy them. But for god's sake quit bitching.

My solution that I already posted once on another topic:

"I think one of the problems is that they don't sell things in smaller portions. What if I only wanted to change one character's looks? I don't want to pay $10 for that! Technically it's $2 per a change anyways which is more reasonable IMO, so why not sell them in singles for $2 each? They could even refine that further... $2 total but 5 things to change (hair style, hair color, face, skin color, and/or body scale) so 40c for each thing. They could sell tokens for 40c each that only change one thing at a time, or they could sell 5 of them for $2 each. And they could they could easily bump the singles up to 50c and probably sell more too.

The way it is now is just greedy and will probably hurt them more than anything (the same thing for Skill Packs... hate those... they should have made Profession Packs or sell each skill for like 5c each... that would actually be MORE than what most skills cost in packs. Plus it would be better for PvP characters + heros as most professions don't even cost 9.99 to unlock everything on them). Anet just fails with pricing."

The underlying reason for that is credit card transaction fees. If they charge too low for a single thing they won't earn much if any revenue because there is a minimum fee to be paid to credit card companies for every transaction. As far as I know this applies to most companies, Walmart and the like let people use credit card for stuff like a pack of gum only because they earn enough profit from other people buying a lot at a time.

Oh really? Well that is lame. Too bad there wasn't other ways that would circumvent that.

You do all realise that they wasted this month's update for this instead of updating skills?
